End of Tour Summary: Deployment #1

I spent a little over six months deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom with the 1st Expeditionary RED HORSE Group. Which meant I got to go TDY during my TDY to places like Qatar, Iraq, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan.

Qatar:

• A day off in Doha
• A quick trip to the US embassy
• Flooding in the desert
• Desert weather
• Groundhog's Day
• Desert safari in Qatar
• The S.A.M.E. old thing
• Sunday in Doha

Iraq:

• Into Iraq
• The abandoned chemical weapons lab
• The Ziggurat of Ur
• This is why I'm here

Afghanistan:

• Thanksgiving in Afghanistan

Uzbekistan:

• Into Uzbekistan
• K2 Site Survey
• K2 batch plant visit
• A day off in Karshi Khanabad
• Wrapping up in K2

Going Home:

• Headed home
• Wheels Up!
